The museum houses one of the worlds most impressive butterfly collections in the country as well as an extensive collection of insects and arachnids from all continents.

Our butterfly collection is made up of over 1,600 samples representing all 15 families of butterflies from all over the globe. World renowned entomologist John Brurie, personally hand picked each one from some of the best collections in the states and relaxed and pinned them specially for this display. He stated that this exhibit is irreplaceable; a selection of this magnitude could not be put together again as it is no longer possible to import specimens from abroad.
